Starbuck is striking out on her own to make her own show. Deadline reports that Battlestar Galactica star Katee Sackhoff has teamed up with Reunion Pictures, the production company behind Syfy's Continuum, to develop and star in a new series called Rain.

Rain, according to Deadline, follows Rain (played by Sackhoff), a soldier exploring what's left of civilization after the effects of global warming have ravaged her planet. Sackhoff wrote the original story, and will executive produce the series going forward through her company, Fly Free Productions. Little else is known about the project, but given Sackhoff's background, there's reason enough to be excited.

Katee Sackhoff has been on a bit of a tear

Sackhoff has been on a bit of a tear lately. While she currently appears on the A&E crime drama Longmire, her last project, the dark Power/Rangers online short, went viral earlier this year. Last year, she starred in Oculus, which performed well with critics and at the box office. Wherever the series lands, hopefully it'll be a show worth following.
